Chase’s Path

Every once in a while the hard-working hubby gets the itch to get outside and tackle a project.  This one has been on the list for a while, and he called it “male nesting”:)  I’ve been working hard inside to get things ready for the baby, and he has been working outside so the yard is ready too!

But first, here are a few pictures of what the backyard looked like when we bought the house… can you see how far we’ve come?  The first one is the side of the house where the new path is.

And what were the girls doing while Daddy and Sami were hard at work?  Flooding the sand box and playing in the mud!

Here’s the path that Chase made first.  It goes from the deck to the concrete slab.

We’ve been debating a garden, but I doubt we can maintain it this year.  We’ve got a few other things going on:)  But the Morning Glories look great!

And while I’m here posting a gazillion pictures, I’ll show a few more of the yard.  The back is almost all concrete – previous owners worked on cars back here.  At first it seemed a bit strange and we debated taking it out, but it’s turned out to be such a blessing!  The kids ride bikes, rollerblade, and decorate it with chalk.  They probably spend more time on the concrete than they do on our slowly emerging grass!

Mommy Necklace

So if you see me, you’ll notice that I’m sporting a new necklace!  My mommy necklace arrived.  It’s my Mother’s Day gift, but I was given permission to wear it a little early:)  This picture is taken from the listing on Etsy, but mine was custom done with FOUR beads!  I absolutely love it!  Here’s a link to the listing, just in case you want one for yourself, or think your favorite mom might want one:)

Countdown to Baby!

Baby #4 is only 50 days away!  That sounds like a really long time, I know, but I think it will go by quickly.  We created a countdown tree to help the kids visualize just how soon their little brother will be here.  This is a wrought iron tree that I bought from Joanna Gaines, and I’ve attached silk flowers to it with tiny rare earth magnets.  Each day the girls take turns taking off one flower.  It’s fun to watch them slowly disappear!

It looks like a tulip tree and is really fun on our dining room table.

Bunny Pictures

Sarah Hess, the main photographer and creator of Fleeting Moments Studio, did bunny pictures a few weeks ago at Pinwheel Kids.  It was far from the ideal shoot for us – Chubbs would NOT sit still and constantly ran off the set, and Pookie was too concerned about the bunny to pay attention to anything else!  I’m including a lot of pictures because they tell a story and reveal the personalities of our kids in a unique way.  The small cowboy boots are there to represent Z who will be joining us in 2 months!
